  36.          Just wanted to inform folks of a new version of the EtherWORKS 3
  37. Packet Driver. This version(V1.01) fixes a problem seen with FTP's PCTCP. This 
  38. problem could cause system hangs when performing certain file operations. The

  82. I was not referring to DOS as a platform, but rather xNOS as a tcp/ip stack.
  83. There is alot of new technology, MIME, Mosaic, Gopher etc, that is coming 
  84. into wide acceptance. One could make the argument that Gopher has come and 
  85. gone before being incorporated into NOS. To get this technology (RFC's) 
  86. incorporated into a DOS based nos would require a fairly broad (read that as
  87. greater than zero) development base for DOS based NOS. I just don't see that
  88. anymore. I believe the 'rude awakening' is that for those that want to hang 
  89. on to a DOS based nos they have to realize, or will shortly, that what they 
  90. see is what they get and have to, for the most part, live with. The new 
  91. stuff will be in OS/2 versions, Linux versions etc.
